BETEL - WEST VILLAGE, NEW YORK

BETEL - WEST VILLAGE, NEW YORK

Betel-Sign-close.jpg

Inspired by hawker food stalls in Thailand, but infused with the urbanism of New York City’s West Village, Betel came about as a fresh addition to the West Village restaurant scene.  Larry Cohn worked with the owners and interior designers on a radical re-design of the existing dining and kitchen spaces, outfitting the space with new finishes of raw metal, concrete, warm woods and fabrics.  To connect the space to the energy of the street, the firm undertook a complete redesign of the exterior façade and received unanimous approval from the New York City Landmark’s Preservation Commission for their design.
